Excellence Through Quality

Our Mission

Building better government through engaged people, effective practices, and established improvement methods.

Our Vision

Strengthening government operations to deliver exceptional value for all citizens through quality excellence.

Who We Are

We are a vibrant community of quality and performance improvement professionals from Federal, State, Local, and International Governments. Our members include leaders, consultants, analysts, practitioners, university professors, students, and others passionate about improving the public sector.

Strategic Plan 2026-2030

The ASQ Government Division Strategic Plan 2026-2030: Building Better Government Through Quality Excellence addresses the critical trust crisis facing government institutions while advancing our vision of strengthening government operations to deliver exceptional value for all citizens.

The plan outlines phased implementation from 2026 through 2030 and beyond, with clear success indicators and measurable outcomes benefiting all stakeholders in government excellence.

Our Programmatic Structure

The ASQ Government Division launches a transformative programmatic structure in 2026, building upon the pioneering work of our Center for Quality in State Government (CQSG), Government Performance Excellence Foundation (GPEF), and Center for Excellence and Quality Initiatives (CEQI).

As these three centers sunset at the end of 2025, we focus on our new programmatic structure which embodies all current programs and initiatives with enhanced clarity and strengthened strategic alignment.

Government Applied Practices (GAP)

Develops quality methodologies and standards including the G1:2026 Standard, implementation resources, and the Government Quality Excellence Awards program.

Government Transformation & Leadership (GTL)

Manages professional development through the GQP credential program, leadership training, the Best Practices Network, and guidance on emerging practices like AI in government.

Join Our Team

We are actively building our Officer, committee, and volunteer pipeline for 2026 and beyond.
